Dark // Love

Audiovisual concert about the dark and loving side of the world. With the immersive electronic music by Soul Safari.

Dark // Love tells the story of a planet that has become completely out of balance; dark times in which all natural resources are being consumed. Dark beats and gray images refer to the metropolitan and industrial landscape. A journey is made through this cold world, based on our own experiences of alienation and feelings of displacement.

The second part of the performance contrasts sharply with a different vision of the world. It is a representation of moments in which we experience love and connection, are in harmony with each other and the nature around us. The images are more colourful, the music lighter and more melodious. A universe of sounds and shapes that become intertwined and connected with each other.

Dark // Love premiered at the Stadsterras Amersfoort, as an intimate sitting concert with headphones. A temporary pond with three fountains and more than 20,000 liters of water was specially constructed by Beeldjutters. The water screen served as a canvas for a number of concerts organized by Beeldjutters, and could be experienced every evening throughout the summer as a continuous installation with colourful visuals.
