Queen of one Night

Let yourself be enchanted by this giant flower.

Once each night, the Queen of One Night blooms, in a colourful display of dance, video mapping and theatre. The performance and visuals have taken inspiration from The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch. The underlying question of the paintings surreal imagery of extravagant beauty and extreme temptation is; are we too caught up in the games of seduction and physical fulfilment, or do these very ‘earthly delights’ make our lives worth living?

The flower Queen of One Night has it’s name for a reason; namely after blossoming, she will soon withdraw. You have to be extremely lucky to be in the right place at the right time to catch a glimpse of her stunning beauty. For when the light of dawn appears, the flower will have already withered away.
